Moschino Fall Winter 2017/2018

Moschino Fall Winter 2017/2018 By FF Channel

Milan embraced Jeremy Scott for his captivating and always well executed fall winter collection. The collection "Materials Girls" saw a an almost unfinished cirque du soleil experience with the backdrop and the runway made entirely out of cardboard and brown tape. Kendall Jenner opened up the show wearing a cardboard effect mini skirt and jacket with a tote bag and cardboard hat as accessories playing on the thesis of the collection and depicting the epic journey we are about to be taken on. The collection served us with a time capsule of fashionable era's leading off with a take on a suffragette feel with light shades of brown throughout and a multitude of the infamous printed logo throughout. The collection takes us on a journey taking elements from the early 19th century, 1940, 60's 80's and 90's with light touches of the future sparked through each piece.
Jeremy Scott is known for his bold, lavish and unapologetic deigns and prints and he sure did stick to his strengths with this masterpiece; the collection was simply a dream like fantasy with an abundance of skirts, dresses, jackets, coats, and trousers displayed. unlike any fall winter collection the colours were bright bold and eye catching among the well designed structures of clothing, with a variation of prints and embellishments Jeremy proved just why he is the reigning King of fashion. At one point of the show model Anna cleveland proved that almost anything can be worn as she tugs and pulls at the curtain backdrop finally revealing its purpose as her floor length gown including tassel's as the collection title "Materials Girls" proves its meaning. A solidified collection proving that just about anything can be worn and made into a fashion accessory or statement.

Diesel Black/Gold
Fall Winter 2017/18

Video by FF Channel

The Diesel Black/Gold collection conveys a beautiful mix between over-sized garments and a vast arrangement of layers; the collection contained Parka jackets, leather coats with decorative motifs, a variation of harem like and baggy trouser along with over-sized jumpers or slim fit tops to fit in with the sporty yet bohemian Gothic tone. A blend of neutral tones paved the way for this epic fashion experience with a beautiful blend of blacks, grey's, blue and creams with minimal light splashes of colour here and there.
The collection stays true to the format of the season using minimal colour's and neutral tones, relying more on texture to bring each ensemble to life. Each piece manages to capture your eye and the essence of the Diesel brand without being too over dramatic; the Black & Gold collection has taken some influence from 90's with the fit and overall rebel quality the collection possesses using leathers, cottons & furs to enhance and really zone in on the uniformed pieces. An overall amazing collection for sure and one we will most certainly see throughout this year, a wearable military uniform that will stand the test of time.

Today were giving our Flashback Friday to the first ever Fashion Week which launched in 1943 in the city of New York. The first New York Fashion Week was held to distract French fashion during World War II; Workers in the fashion industry we unable to travel to Paris. This was the perfect opportunity as before World War II, American designers were taught to rely on French couture for inspiration. The event was originally called Press Week and was organised by Publicist Eleanor Lambert who put the even together to showcase the work of American designers who's work had previously been ignored by journalists. Eleanor's work took over the world with Paris holding couture show's in 1945 and Fashion week in 1973, Milan in 1958 and London in 1984.

Fashion Week speaks volumes across the globe not only for the celebrities that attend the shows but the art and creative process behind the runways; garments taking months to create with some of the worlds most luxury fabrics and embellishments. Influence:

"I gathered my influences from not only my current surroundings but past and present issues that we face in society. At some point we have all felt trapped, misunderstood, put down due to our gender, sexual orientation or race, caged or simply that we have to conform to what society says is right. I wanted to strip back all layers of myself with this collection, as many times I have felt all of these emotions but gathered my strength and determination from strong, fearless, independent women that have surrounded my life growing up. As I researched generations of my family I was able to depict story's and family ties going back century's to the motherland Africa. Tribes play an important role in the history of Africa and convey a strong message of power, beauty and courage. I wanted this collection to stand for the same message tribes such as the Musri have displayed for century's.
